The Positivity Of Flowers

Come Explore

My artist book is titled: The Positivity of Flowers.

It is made with the Japanese Stab & Stitch bookmaking technique. I used wallpaper for the covers and hinges. I use bookbinding waxed thread for the stitching. The paper is white mixed media paper. The entire book measures a width of 11-1/4 inches and a length of 17-1/2 inches.

The reason I created this is because this year of 2020 has been full of uncertainty following the global pandemic of COVID-19. Feelings of sorrow, frustration, anger, and fear are the most prevalent within the hearts of this nation’s citizens and the global population. Those negative emotions are what motivated me to remind others to stay positive instead of focusing on the negative.

The poems that accompany my drawings are all my own work and showcases the unique meanings behind each flower.

Feel free to browse through my portfolio, and get in touch if you have a poem or drawing in mind that you’d like to explore together.

"The hardest choice for an artist to make, is to not the concept of drawing, but the first line you create.”
